Back in December last year, graffiti tags had started to appear in the area, and they were noticed in town. But, they were shortly covered over by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council’s Street Scene Team.

However, Hinckley Police officers have since managed to identify one of the individuals who were responsible through footage from one of the town centre’s CCTV cameras.

Whilst the offenders’ ‘tags’ were covered over months ago, it had been organised that they would lend the Borough Council a helping hand in painting over and cleaning up recently-sprayed graffiti tags along Narrows Jitty, where new graffiti has emerged.

A spokesperson for Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council has thanked local police officers for their support – and stated hopes the individual can “learn from this”.

They said: “We hope that this person will learn from this, and other individuals be warned – we do investigate crimes. You can be prosecuted, or undertake community service. Thanks to Hinckley Police for their support.”
