WARWICKSHIRE POLICE officers have launched an appeal for witnesses after a teenage boy was ‘hit over the head with a bike tyre’ during an attempted robbery in Nuneaton yesterday evening.
The attempted robbery took place on Greenmoor Road in Nuneaton, at approximately 8pm yesterday evening (Tuesday, 3 May).
The suspect had engaged the victim, a teenage boy, in conversation, before he was hit over the head with a tyre and the suspect had attempted to make off with the bike.
The suspect had made off from the scene empty handed. And luckily, the victim was not badly hurt.
Officers have stated that the offender has been described as white, aged 15 to 16-years-old, wearing a full blue Nike tracksuit with white trainers.
The offender was last spotted carrying a bike tyre in hand as he was heading in the direction of Henry Street, which is about a two minutes’ walk from Greenmoor Road.
Police Inspector, Matt Craddock, who is investigating the case, said: “We have a detailed description of the suspect and we believe that someone will recognise him from this description.
“There will also have been quite a few people in the area at the time who may be able to help with our enquiries.”
He further encouraged those with footage that can help with the investigation to get in touch with officers through the non-emergency police number of 101, quoting incident 355 of 3 May 2022.
Alternatively, those who wish to pass on details anonymously can do so by calling independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
