The vandalism was first noticed by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council (HBBC) last Friday morning (1 April) – and they originally believed that the tags had been sprayed overnight.

But today (6 April), in a statement shared on Facebook, a spokesperson for the Council has explained that the vandalism took place in front of a town centre CCTV camera in daylight.

And, they have further stated that images of the two perpetrators, as well as their vehicles, and registration details, which were taken from the CCTV cameras, are now with Hinckley Police officers.

The Street Scene Team helped clear away the tags using power washing equipment, graffiti wipes, and specialist graffiti removal gels.

Church Walk businesses targeted with ‘similar’ tags

The spokesperson has further noted that they have been made aware of the fact that some businesses at the back of Church Walk have been targeted with ‘similar’ graffiti tags.

Businesses who have been impacted by the tags are now being encouraged to report this to the police, through their non-emergency police number of 101.
