One of the roads in the village – Main Street – between the junction with Nuneaton Lane and Hinckley Lane, will be closed on Sunday (27 March), from 8am to 6pm.

Leicestershire County Council’s Highways Teams approved a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order being for next Sunday in a bid to try and ‘minimise’ disruption, according to Higham on the Hill Parish Council.

The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) is to be implemented for public safety so that Coventry-based water supplier, Severn Trent Water, are able to install new apparatus.

A proposed diversion route has been arranged in advance.

The diversion route will be via Nuneaton Lane, A5 Watling Street, A47 Dodwells Road, A47 Normandy Way, Wykin Road, Higham Lane, Hinckley Lane, and vice versa.

A Leicestershire County Council spokesperson stated that the Council apologise for any inconvenience caused by the roadworks.
