WARWICKSHIRE POLICE officers are appealing for information after a reported cash-in-transit robbery took place at an Aldi foodstore in Nuneaton this afternoon.

Police officers were called to a report of an incident shortly after 12.35pm at the Aldi supermarket, based on Kingswood Road.
It has been reported that ‘a quantity’ of cash was stolen by two suspects who then left the scene on-foot.
No injuries have been reported – and no weapons were reported to have been seen.
One Aldi shopper sent photos to the Hinckley Free Press of officers standing outside of the shop, and shown that the cash-in-transit vehicle was a G4S security vehicle.

At the time of publication (Wednesday, 9 March), Nuneaton and Bedworth officers remain in the area, and have confirmed that ‘a number’ of enquiries are ongoing.
Anybody who witnessed the offence, or any suspicious behaviour in the area, is being encouraged to pass on information to officers using the non-emergency police number of 101 – and quoting incident number 161 of 9 March.
Alternatively, those who wish to anonymously pass on any information can do so by calling independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, or through their website.
