American sportswear giant Nike set for brand new Fosse Park outlet

AMERICAN SPORTSWEAR giant Nike are set to come to Fosse Park West.

Planning applications lodged by Nike to install two illuminated ‘Swoosh’ fascia signs – and one illuminated hanging sign – have been approved by bosses at Blaby District Council.

It would be housed inside of Unit Number 9, Fosse Park West, in the currently vacant unit next door to fashion design retailer, TK Maxx, and would mark their first permanent location in Leicester.

Designs were drawn up, by planners architects back in December – but the plans were registered in January.

It was granted one week ago and six days’ ago on Wednesday 26 January.

Recruitment for store management is now underway.

The following jobs have been quietly posted on the official Nike UK website:

  • Assistant Head Coach (Assistant Store Manager)
  • Nike Operations/Back of House Coach (Department Manager)
  • Nike Coach (Department Manager).

No further details on its opening hours or how many jobs would be created are yet known.

The Hinckley Free Press have approached a spokesperson for Nike in Europe and the United Kingdom, but have not heard back at the time of publication (Tuesday, 8 February).

It is not the first time that the American sportswear chain have set up shop in the Fosse Park area.

From December 2012 to January 2014, a ‘pop-up’ factory outlet gave visitors the chance to get their hand on Nike merchandise at highly-discounted prices from their usual recommended prices.
