ROADWORKS are to take place for four days on High Street in Desford next week.

A yellow road sign has recently been placed on High Street in the village, stating that “major works” will be carried out from Monday 7 February, to Friday 11 February.
It further warned drivers that they will have to ‘expect delays’ as a result.
But, it did not reveal any information as to why the works would take place.
As a result, parishioners from Desford Parish Council decided to investigate the matter further with Leicestershire County Council’s Highways Team.
A spokesperson for the Highways Team revealed to the Parish Council that the works are taking place so that Severn Trent Water can install two under pressure hydrants.
One villager has branded the works as “guaranteed chaos”, after learning that no signs mentioning the roadworks have been placed near Caterpillar’s firm in the area.
At the time of publication (3 February), no further details have been provided to online traffic map, One Network, so it is unknown whether there will be temporary traffic lights in place, or an alternate traffic route, but, these may be listed nearer the time.
