Car parking in Council-operated car parks across the town was made free last month for the festive season in December, as well as through to end of this month.

But, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council (NBBC) have reassured drivers who use the car parks across the town that parking will be affordable, at what they have dubbed a ‘fantastic’ rate of just £1 for three hours, until the end of March.

In a statement issued to the Free Press, a Council spokesperson stated that there will be a review of car parking changes across the borough, so that ‘competitive rates’ will be offered to all who use the facilities.

Coun. Kristofer Wilson (Con, Whitestone), Leader of the Borough Council, said: “As a new administration we pledged to do all that we can to support our town centres to remain vibrant and to help them during the pandemic recovery.

“This action proves that, yet again, we are keeping our promises to the people of Nuneaton and Bedworth.”

He continued: “We are continuing to offer reduced rate car parking charges and are determined to ensure our charges stay competitive.

“Businesses have been massively affected by the pandemic and we are committed to doing all we can to help them, as well as encourage shoppers to return to our town centres.”
