A SUSPECTED arson attack took place in Hinckley early this morning, as two vehicles were hit by flames – and officers believe it could have been ‘started deliberately’.
Shortly before 5am this morning (Monday, 10 January), Leicestershire Police officers were called down to The Narrows, in Hinckley, following the report of a car on fire.
But, it wasn’t just the black Audi A3 that was hit in the arson attack – another vehicle was engulfed in flames – a black Nissan – and now only its ‘shell’ remains.
Residents of the nearby property were temporarily evacuated as a safety precaution – but the side of the property has been hit with visible heat and smoke damage.
A Leicestershire Police spokesperson told the Hinckley Free Press: “It is believed the fire may have been started deliberately and an investigation into the incident is continuing.”
Anybody with information is being urged to report details by calling the non-emergency police number of 101, or through their website, quoting reference, 22*016256.
