A FOOTBALL match between Nuneaton Borough FC and Biggleswade Town FC had to be called off today (Saturday, 8 January) – and the reasoning has now been revealed.

Nuneaton Borough were set to face Biggleswade Town at the Yvette Brewer Stadium, located on Langford Road in Biggleswade, at 3pm.

But, this morning, both teams issued a social media statement each, confirming that it had been called off due to the pitch being waterlogged, following heavy rainfall in the area overnight.

The announcement came following a pitch inspection by officials, which was carried out at 10am.

A spokesperson for Nuneaton Borough FC, said: “The game will be rescheduled in due course and a rearrangement of the fixture will be communicated once agreed.”
