70-year-old man passed away yesterday after collapsing in Aldi’s Bedworth store

A 70-YEAR-OLD man has sadly died after collapsing inside of a supermarket in Bedworth, near Nuneaton, early yesterday afternoon (Friday, 31 December).

He had collapsed inside of the Aldi Supermarket on Mill Street in a medical episode, with no suspicious circumstances, a Warwickshire Police spokesperson has confirmed.

An ambulance crew first arrived to the incident, following reports of the collapse.

Local police officers were then called for assistance by the ambulance crews who were in attendance, at approximately 1.30pm.

A medical helicopter was also at the scene at the time that officers had attended.

The 70-year-old was later taken to a hospital, but he was sadly declared dead before his arrival.

The Hinckley Free Press extends its condolences to the individual’s family.
