A NEW Indian takeaway have taken on a former Nuneaton fish and chip shop, based on the outskirts of the town centre.

Earlier this week, a reader had informed the Free Press that the former Wales Fish and Chips space, located on Bond Street, has been occupied by new owners.
It is named Joy Takeaway – and unlike past occupant, Wales, customers will not have the opportunity to dine-in – only make orders over the phone, or pick their food up.
It has not officially opened yet at the time of publication (Saturday, 18 December), nor has a social media or online presence been launched.
The takeaway is located right next door to another Bond Street-based Indian takeaway – Indian Lounge, who have had a presence in the town since the mid-2010s.
Now, only one empty restaurant space remains on the street – the former Ginger Tree restaurant, which quietly closed amidst the height of the pandemic, which was most well-known locally for its famed and much-enjoyed Chinese buffet.
