The well-known eatery have quietly signposted a planning application on one of the currently vacant units inside of Food Central – Unit 14 – in order to serve up drinks from the premises.

The news comes a few months after national cafe and bar group, Loungers, announced their plans that they will also take on a site at the retail park.

An application notice was spotted on Saturday, 4 December, by the Hinckley Free Press.

It shows that Zizzi want the proposed branch to open from 11am to 12.30am, for all seven days of the week, from Monday to Sunday.

The licence further reveals that they want to play music through their indoor speakers and serve late night refreshments in the time frame.

But, alcohol would be served on and off the premises from 11am to 12am, meaning that it would be served until midnight, instead of the closing time of 12.30am.

Zizzi have listed job vacancies online for a full-time Assistant Manager and part-time, or full-time, Assistant Head Chef, linked here.

If approved, this would mark Zizzi’s newest and most recent restaurant in Leicester, since they closed a location of theirs on 26 Belvoir Street in October 2020.

Whilst a decision is yet to be made, local Zizzi fans after a bite to eat can pay a visit to their location inside of the Highcross Shopping Centre.
