Well-used Desford park closed for ‘up to a week’ as new replacement play equipment is being installed

A WELL-USED PARK and play area in Desford has temporarily closed starting today (29 November).

The Pickards Recreation Ground has been closed off to users and families, so that works can go ahead on installing new replacement play equipment.

It has had to be closed off to members of the public as a safety measure.

It will be closed for up to a week, but, a Parish Council spokesperson said on social media sharing site, Facebook, that it may be “hopefully less”.

Desford Parish Council gave the ‘heads up’ to residents on social media sharing site, Facebook, last Tuesday (23 November).

The statement continued, and concluded with: “We are aware that this is a well used park and this will be disappointing for some residents but it is important for safety reasons”.
