It will be housed inside of the former H. Samuel jewellers, located at 21 Castle Street, which has sat vacant since July last year (2020).

Storefront signage for the shop was installed by contractors today (17 November).

It will specialise in unlocking mobile phones, selling phone accessories, and even taking in and buy second-hand devices that will be sold on.

An opening date was not revealed to the Free Press at the time of publication.

The tenant has been helped into Hinckley by Station Road-based chartered surveyors, Wards, who were responsible for managing and marketing the property.

Tech Geeks mark one of Wards’ newest tenants to start setting up shop this week.

As we mentioned yesterday (16 November), a new hairdressers named Mane and Petals are opening on Coventry Road and expect to open by the end of the month.

Harry Ward, of Wards, said: “The letting of the former H. Samuel on Castle Street to TechGeeks reflects the first ‘prime’ retail letting in Hinckley town centre, following the COVID-19 pandemic, and illustrates the strong confidence retailers have in Hinckley as a location to open new units.

“We are continuing to experience high demand for retail premises of all shapes and sizes and look forward to welcoming more exciting occupiers into Hinckley town centre in the not-too-distant future.”

Wards are in talks with potential tenants for two Regent Street properties, as two of their locations have been quietly placed ‘under offer’ – a newly-created retail unit in the the former Voodoo Lounge club, and the former Euronics electronics store.
