A statement was posted to Twitter today (14 November), announcing that Stu Anderson, who has served as Chairman and co-leader of the Nuneaton, Hinckley and Bedworth rail users’ group since May 2021, has left the group for good.

Anderson and co-leader Dave Kane were appointed leaders of the group in May 2021, following former leader Mark Whitlegg’s departure.

But, Dave Kane will continue to independently serve as the main leader of the group.

A spokesperson for the group, said: “We would like to thank Stu for his hard work especially during a difficult period of a pandemic and running an organisation.”

In a statement, Stu thanked Dave, the group’s loyal members, and stakeholders, for being ‘extremely’ supportive and fantastic.

He further added: “It really pains me to depart, especially during a period where the organisation was ramping up its tempo, getting to work immediately from the get go and starting to make a difference.

“The group will still continue to be run in extremely capable hands of Dave Kane, and my time with the organisation has been a pleasurable experience.

“I wish Dave and everyone the very best and I’m saddened not to be able to join in highs and lows and see the project through with all the ambitious plans put forward.”
