The fun run, which is 0.8 miles in total, will start at 11am on Sunday, 5 December.

A pre-run warm-up will be held at 10.45am before the main run, with the BID’s Festive Elves.

People of all age groups and abilities are being encouraged to take part in the run, especially if they are dressed up festively in Christmas jumpers or costumes – and even well-behaved dogs are being welcomed as participants into the run.

All who have completed the run and dressed in a way which sports a Yuletide theme will be handed a neck medal.

A sweet shop will be located at the top of Castle Street as an added incentive for children.

Gift vouchers, with totals ranging from £25 to £50, will be handed out to runners with and families for the best costumes.

The different categories where prizes will be awarded, are:

  • £50 Gift Voucher – Best Individual Costume
  • £50 Gift Voucher – Best Family Group Costumes
  • £25 Gift Voucher – Runner-up Best Costume (Junior – 12 years and under)
  • £25 Gift Voucher – Runner-up Best Costume (Senior)

BID Bosses have advised that those interested should apply early online, whilst they have the chance, as over 100 people have already entered to take part.
