Hinckley’s high street shoppers will be able to park in three town centre car parks completely free of charge for five days – starting from Monday 18 October to Saturday 23 October from 9am onwards, in the Castle, Lower Bond Street, and Trinity West car parks.

Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council (HBBC) have agreed to drop the parking charges in the selected car parks to support Hinckley BID’s October half term special offer event, which thanks shoppers for their loyalty, and helps to increase trade for shops and businesses.

This is not the first time the Council have completely dropped parking charges for the half term shopping event – they have honoured this in previous years.

As a part of the BID’s shopping event, a ‘treasure hunt’ will also being take place for young town-goers to take part in with their family members.

Council Leader, Coun. Stuart Bray (Lib Dem, Hinckley Castle), hopes that the parking offer will help to ‘draw back’ visitors and residents into the town centre.

He further revealed that, as in usual fashion, a free parking offer will be in place this Christmas too.

Councillor Bray, explained: “Once again this has been a very challenging year for our local shop owners and we hope that this parking offer alongside Hinckley BID’s event will help draw back visitors and residents to the town centre.

“We will be announcing a Christmas parking offer as normal but hope this added bonus will benefit local shops and our wide range of cafes, bars and restaurants.”
