A NEW tanning salon which is taking on part of a former nightclub on Regent Street in Hinckley town centre is set to open soon.
As the Free Press reported in mid-July (19 July), a planning permission notice was signposted outside of one of the newly-created retail units in the former Quartz nightclub to transform the unit into a brand new town centre tanning salon.
The plans were put forward by Forever Sun, and it will mark their first Leicestershire location, as they only have branches in Aldridge and Lichfield.
A representative for Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council (HBBC) responded in a consultation response to the planning documents saying that they had ‘no objection’ with the salon coming to town.
Since then, contractors have been spotted working on both the exterior and interior of the unit to transform it into its new lease of life as a sunbed salon.
Yesterday (19 September), a new vinyl sign was placed in the window of the tanning salon, which simply reads: “Forever Sun – opening soon”.
Job vacancies have also been displayed in the window for part-time salon assistants to work daytime, evenings and weekends – people interested in the role are being encouraged to send their CVs to firstname.lastname@example.org.
It will open from 9am to 9pm on Monday, 9am to 8pm on Saturday, and 10am to 5pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
The Free Press have reached out to Forever Sun to try and find out the official opening day of the new Hinckley location, but have not yet heard back from them at the time of publication (20 September).
It will be the newest business to come to Regent Street, as the last newest start-up on the street was opened back in April – a Viking-inspired tattoo studio owned by local tattoo artist Steve Sinner, named Black Helm Tattoo.
