Earlier this year, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council (NBBC), announced that Units 3 – 15 in New Century Way will be bulldozed to make way for the newly-announced ‘Hampton’ by Hilton Hotel, coming to Abbey Street.

The works were set to start in late August and early September, but these have not gone ahead at the time of publication (12 September).

But, one of the units affected by the bulldozers is Sally Beauty, who have exclusively confirmed to the Free Press that they will remain in Nuneaton.

They will stay in Nuneaton and are already looking at a new space in the town.

A Sally Beauty spokesperson, said: “We love Nuneaton and serving our trade customers.

“We will remain in the town, despite our current store closing as a result of the new development.

“We are being ‘evacuated’ out of New Century Way by the Council, but we are actively seeking a new unit – and we are finalising talks on one.”

Interestingly, this morning, the Council Leader for the Borough Council, Coun. Kristofer Wilson, revealed to the Nuneaton News that three new stores, who currently remain unnamed, are in talks with the Ropewalk Shopping Centre.

The Council have played a hand in helping others re-locate from New Century Way in the past, including Kimberley’s Occasions, who moved into the old Gamestation, and Mobility and Lifestyle, who took on the old Blockbuster, naming it ‘Blockbuster House’ as a tribute to American video rental shop.
