Just three days’ ago (8 September), customers and passers-by had spotted that construction barriers had been placed outside of the Nuneaton Waterstones bookstore with signage being removed.

Customers are still able to enter and exit the shop as normal, but at the time of publication (11 September), the Waterstones signage is down as it is being replaced.

But now, the reasoning behind this has been revealed to the Free Press, with a spokesperson explaining that the branch is being given a lick of paint and updated shopfront signage to improve the shopping experience for customers.

They explained: “The outside of our Nuneaton shop is getting a fresh lick of paint and some new signage, as part of our plans to continue to improve our shops for our customers.”
