AN OUTDOOR brass music concert is set to return in two days’ time in Barwell (5 September), following its cancellation due to the Covid-19 pandemic last year.

The free-to-enter two-hour long event, titled “Brass on the Grass”, will take place at Kirkby Road, Barwell, on Sunday 5 September from 2pm until 4pm.
The live music will be performed by musicians from the Ibstock Brass Band.
Attendees are being asked to bring their own chairs so they can sit down in the sun to watch the performances.
Those with an appetite for a sweet treat will be able to get their hands on an ice cream to enjoy with the warm weather on the day.
Council Vice Chair Councillor Mathew Hulbert, who Chairs the Authority’s Events Committee, which organises the occasion, has said that it will be a ‘very special’ occasion as the event returns after a year’s hiatus.
Mr. Hulbert said: “Due to Covid-19 we weren’t able to hold Brass On The Grass last year, so we’re delighted it’s back this Sunday.
“We hope lots of villagers will bring a picnic and something to sit on and enjoy the wonderful Ibstock Brass Band.
“This is our first in-person event since before the pandemic, so it’s set to be a very special occasion.”
