A THEATRICAL BAR in Hinckley are set for a night of ‘Madness’ tomorrow night (29 August), when the unlikely pairing of Madness cover act Marky T and Miss TuTu Ca-Choo hold a bank holiday ‘Sunday Showdown’ together.
Local ska singer Marky T, will perform as a part of the main set at 8.30pm, whilst Miss TuTu will hold a meet and greet and photo opportunities throughout the night.
Marky is no stranger to the town of Hinckley, having performed at many of the town’s bars before, such as the Regent, Gravity, Black Horse, and Harry’s Bar, to name a few.
Marky T, real name Mark Towers, exclusively spoke to the Free Press about tomorrow night’s upcoming show.
He said: “My set list mainly consists of Madness songs, as well as songs from The Specials, The Jam, The Beat, The Clash and Bad Manners.
“I perform two-tone, but with some ‘mod’ thrown in, with most of my mod tracks being from 1979 to 1981.
“I’m looking forward to it as I’ve never worked with a drag queen before, only a comedian, so working with Miss TuTu will mark a first-time experience for me.
“I wouldn’t say ‘no’ to a duet with Miss TuTu if it makes others laugh and they are having a good time.
“I want to see people out of their seats! When I know that I’ve got a good crowd I know that I’m okay for the night.
“I’ve performed two shows in the past which were rammed with people and they were both New Year’s events – one was at the Black Horse, the other at The Bounty.”
Harry Underwood, who performs as Miss TuTu Ca-Choo, said: “Miss TuTu will be your ‘hostess with the mostess’, hosting from 8pm to 10pm.
“She’ll be hosting for the night and introducing Marky T on and off his sets.
“Miss TuTu will mingle with fans and walk with shots to get everyone in the ‘party’ mood.
“During the breaks she’ll come over and ‘chit chat’ with fans.”
