Poundstretcher ‘push back’ opening of new Nuneaton store – it will open next week

POUNDSTRETCHER have re-scheduled the opening date for their new Nuneaton store on Harefield Road, meaning it will now open next week.

The discount retailer, headquartered in Kirby Muxloe, have revealed to the Free Press that the ‘grand opening’ that was going to take place tomorrow morning (28 August), will now be held at 10am next Wednesday (1 September).

The decision to push the opening back a total of five days’ has been made last minute, with no further information being revealed.

But, what is known, is that on the grand opening next Wednesday, voucher giveaways will be held to celebrate the opening – with £300 of vouchers being given away to customers and £200 of vouchers going to Nuneaton Foodbank.

The retailer will be going ‘all out’ in celebrating the opening of the new location, from 10am until mid-afternoon.

New staff members from the local area have been employed to work at the new site, with some working part-time and others working on a full-time basis.

It has further been confirmed that Poundstretcher’s other location, located next to Nuneaton Railway Station on Regent Street, will remain open and trading.

Poundstretcher’s Property and Legal Director, Gerry Loughran, said: “We are pleased to be opening a brand new store to the people of Nuneaton with lots of fantastic branded products, all at bargain prices, and look forward to opening another 50 stores over the coming months, creating over 1,000 jobs.

“This new store has also been modelled to enhance the shopping experience for all Poundstretcher customers.

“It also makes it even easier to find all the bargains and savings they offer every day on branded household and food products, so customers will be able to shop comfortably.

“We are expecting massive queues for our opening day, so come early to catch the bargains!”
