The Vehicle Meet will take place next Thursday (19 August) with classic cars hitting the streets once again for local motor enthusiasts to see, and it will mark the second date of this year’s Vehicle Meets, as the first took place last month back in July (15 July).

It will be start at 5pm in the evening through to 8.30pm at night, with the main focus of the event being classic vehicles, which are vehicles with a pre-2000s registration.

Hinckley Business Improvement District (Hinckley BID) have stated that no more classic vehicles can be displayed as all of the spaces are now fully booked.

Spectators are ‘warmly welcomed’ to come down, as it is a free-to-visit event with no prior booking, meaning people can show up and marvel at the classic vehicles.

The entrances for exhibitors are from Station Road into Market Place.

Car parking is free after 6pm in the town centre’s Borough Council-owned car parks. The nearest car parks to the town centre have been listed below.

Closest car parks

Motorshow taking place next month

Next month (19 September), the BID are pencilled in to play host to a ‘Motorshow’ in the town centre – Hinckley BID’s 10th Annual Motorshow.

It will feature vehicles of ‘special interest’, vintage and classic cars.

Trophies will be handed out to the winners of six different categories.

Speaking about the upcoming Motorshow, Steve Wegerif, Director of Hinckley BID, said: “The Hinckley Town centre Motorshow celebrates its 10th year on Sunday September 19th with more than 500 vehicles already entered!

“Parked up along the streets within the town centre will be a host of cars, motorbikes, tractors and other vehicles aged from over 100 years old to the latest in one-off ultra-fast sports machines.

“It’s free to enter and free to watch, many shops and catering establishments will be open and with additional entertainment to suit all of the family.

“It will be a fun day out for everyone!

“It’ll start at 10.30am through to 4.30pm. A live jazz band will perform in Market Place from where the prizes for ‘Best Vehicles’ will also be made.”
