The multi-purpose entertainment venue will continue to serve as a vaccination hub for the extended period of time following the Government’s objective to provide the Covid booster programme in the UK ahead of winter.

As a result, the Civic Hall’s programme of entertainment events will continue to be suspended for the time being, but shows are set to resume once again early next year (2022).

NHS England and Coventry and vaccination service providers, Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, have been working with NBBC to ensure vaccinations for local people as a part of the national vaccination programme.

Over 90,000 residents in Nuneaton and Bedworth have now received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, with the Civic Hall providing the highest number of these.

Vaccinations are now available for anyone aged 16 or over and some children aged 12 to 15 who have a higher risk of getting seriously ill from Covid-19, or those who live with someone at high risk of catching it.

Coun. Julian Gutteridge, the Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Health and Environment, said: “We continue to prioritise the safety of our residents and support the government objective to roll out the Covid-19 vaccination and the winter booster programme.

“The great news is that we are working towards reopening the Civic Hall as an entertainment venue in early 2022.

“There are loads of great acts in the diary already, so visit the website and take a look!”
