UPDATE (27 August): Poundstretcher have now confirmed that the store will open on 1 September.
A BRAND NEW Poundstretcher store is set to open in Nuneaton in three weeks’ time, on 28 August at 10am in the former Argos store on Harefield Road.
The Hinckley Free Press learnt of the new store coming to town as windows were signposted in Poundstretcher’s current location last week, advertising general store assistants for a “new store”.
A Poundstretcher spokesperson confirmed the new store location and opening date to the Free Press three days’ ago (3 August).
£300 worth of vouchers will be up for grabs to customers on the opening day, whilst £200 worth of vouchers will be donated to the Nuneaton Foodbank.
The discount chain will be ‘going-all-out’ as they celebrate the grand opening of the new Harefield Road store from 10am until the mid-afternoon.
New staff members from the local area, who will work part-time and full-time, are being recruited to become part of the Poundstretcher team.
The brand new store is being modelled to enhance the shopping experience for all Poundstretcher customers, so that they can easily locate all bargains for branded household products and food products.
The chain have confirmed that the Regent Street store adjacent to 365 Bargains will remain open and trading alongside this new store.
Gerry Loughran, Property and Legal Director for Poundstretcher, has said that the chain are ‘expecting massive queues’ for the opening of the new store.
Mr. Loughran, said: “We are pleased to be opening a brand new store to the people of Nuneaton with lots of fantastic, branded products all at bargain prices.
“New members of staff, both part and full time, from the local area are being recruited to become part of the Poundstretcher team.
“This new store has also been modelled to enhance the shopping experience for all Poundstretcher customers.
