A GROUP of renowned popular comedians and local stand-up comics are on their way to Hinckley’s Revival bar on Regent Street next month for their first monthly comedy show.
Stand-up comics from the London-based Collywobblers Comedy Club will be sharing an evening of laughs with attendees in the 18+ show named “Sunday Laughs” on Sunday 12 September.
The news was announced by Revival themselves this evening (3 August) on their official Facebook page.
But, Revival’s regulars have known that a comedy show was in the works behind the scenes for a while, as an advertisement promoting a comedy night was shown on their small electronic jumbotron near the main bar and cocktail bar.
Tickets are priced at £10.50 when booked in advance through the Comedy Box Office service Joke Pit by clicking here, but tickets at the door are subject to availability and will be priced at £15 per person.
Ticketholders who have booked a table of two people or more and show up between 6pm and 6.30pm, will receive a complimentary flatbread free of charge.
No food will be available from 7pm, so that the show can run with ‘minimum’ disturbance – the comedy show will start at 7.30pm and will run through to 10.15pm, with only two intervals throughout the night.
- Patrick Monahan
Patrick Monahan is a regular performer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and was named the Winner of ITV’s “Show Me the Funny” reality show in 2011.
Monahan was named LAFTA’s “Best Newcomer” of their 2012 Loaded LAFTA Awards.
- Esther Manito
Esther Manito has appeared on Series 3 of ITV Two’s “The Stand Up Sketch Show” – she won “Best Show” at the 2021 Leicester Comedy Festival.
Manito performed in the fourth heat of BBC’s 2016 “New Comedy Award”.
In July 2018, Esther made history as the first Female Comedian to perform inside of the Dubai Opera House, in Downtown Dubai, UAE.
- Charlie Partridge
Charlie has performed at two well-known popular festivals – Glastonbury Festival and Wilderness Festival in 2019.
He has worked with the BBC, appearing on their “BBC Presents Edinburgh 2014” show, and Radio 4’s magazine-style radio sketch show, “Newsjack”.
Last year, he took part in a virtual performance on the Virtual Snowbombing 2020 show with breakfast television legend Mr. Motivator and British drum-and-bass band, Rudimental.
- Su Kaur
Su has little-to-no social media presence for herself as a stand-up comic at the time at publication (3 August).
But, in a media release, her bio from Comedy Box Office, Joke Pit, simply reads: “The fine line between class and crass, stuck between culture clash and a lot of trash. Straddling two cultures and being a disappointment in both.”
- Kevin Daniel
A relatively new up and coming performer, Midlands-based Kevin Daniel has only started performing stand-up comedy back in June 2019.
In December 2019, Daniel was nominated for the “Best New Act” in the Midlands Comedy Awards.
- MC Siôn James
London-based media firm Time Out Group have praised Siôn for his audience participation and described him as ‘utterly charming’ and a ‘lovable giant’.
Siôn has performed in his own show named “Sion James and Friends” at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
ThreeWeeks Magazine have stated that James’ sets “reminds us what stand-up should be as he riffs expertly”.
