The former Hinckley United manager-turned-swing singer entertained socially-distanced park-goers by performing classic swing hits from inside of the Diamond Jubilee Bandstand.

He started his set at 1pm and finished at approximately 3pm.

Luckily for attendees, the rain had held off on the day, so getting caught in the rain was not a worry and they were able to enjoy the afternoon set with family and friends.

The next act to perform for the ‘Music in the Mead’ events will be Steven Faulkner, with his fellow band members, who will play songs from his critically-acclaimed recent releases.

Event organisers for Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council have redesigned the outdoor event to ensure that it is ‘Covid-secure’, with Covid marshals on hand.

Hand sanitising stations have been set up across the park.

Music in the Mead events are free, do not require any prior booking, and are held from 1pm until 3pm.

The list of upcoming performers has been confirmed below:

  • Steven Faulkner (14 August)
  • Out of Gas (21 August)
  • Supersonic 90’s (28 August)
  • 4th Avenue (11 September)
  • To Be Determined  (18 September)
