PLANS HAVE been submitted through the Council’s planning portal for a new tanning salon in Hinckley.

It would be based on Regent Street in one of the newly-created shop units in the former Quartz nightclub in the Highcross Building, adjacent to the Revival bar.

Planning documents show that a tanning business named Forever Sun are the business behind the proposed salon.

This would be their first Leicestershire branch, as they currently only have two locations, with one in Aldridge and the other in Lichfield.

Plans were registered on the online portal back in May, but they have only recently been made public knowledge, as the printed application, outside the front of the space, has the date “08/07/2021” (8 July) handwritten on it.

The proposed floor plans show that a main shop floor and office would be created, and a wheelchair accessible toilet would also be installed.

Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council responded in a consultation response saying that they had ‘no objection’ with the salon coming to town.

It would trade from 9am to 9pm on Monday, 9am to 8pm on Saturday, and 10am to 5pm on Sundays and bank holidays.

The plans are currently ‘awaiting decision’ at the time of publication (18 July).
