A NEW delivery-only dessert parlour with a primary focus on waffles will start serving hungry Hinckley residents tomorrow (17 July) at 3pm.

The new independently-owned venture is named Waffles Emporium.

It is owned by an 18-year-old Hinckley entrepreneur who has spent multiple years working in a popular local dessert parlour, where they worked as Assistant Shop Staff as well as a Manager.

The idea to set up shop came when the owner was working at the nearby parlour and identified ‘key’ areas that could be greatly improved by providing them with better customer service and cheaper and tastier desserts.

At this moment in time, menu items are being cooked up from home and delivered to residents through Foodhub, however they have shown interest in purchasing a premises in Hinckley if the delivery service proves popular.

Speaking to the Free Press, a Waffles Emporium spokesperson, said: “We are looking at moving into a premises within the following months depending on how this delivery test ends.”

They received a five-star food hygiene rating on Monday, and social media profiles promoting the new brand were recently updated this week.

Waffles are not their only delicious desserts – their menu also boasts crêpes, brownies, sundaes, milkshakes, and smoothies.

Even chocolate bar milkshakes are on offer – a chocolate bar of the customers’ choice blended with a vanilla ice cream.

The owner is currently the only employee, however, they ‘greatly value’ and appreciate getting to interact and hand-deliver their tasty treats to residents.

A whopping 30 per cent discount will be applied to all orders that are made by customers who are trying the food from the parlour before 24 July.

On their website, they say: “Desserts are more than just what meets the eye for Waffles Emporium.

“We believe a good dessert is made with the finest ingredients and built up with the utmost care.”

Opening times

They are open from 4pm to 10pm from Monday to Thursday, 3pm to 10pm on Friday, and from 3pm to 10:30pm on Saturday and Sunday.
