The announcement about the extra drop-in session for Saturday was broken by the Borough Council on social media at 10am this morning.

The news comes just two days’ after the Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group only listed Sunday and Monday as vaccination days on their website.

This means that there are now a total of three days for people aged 18 and over in the borough to ‘drop-in’ to the Leisure Centre to grab a jab.

Doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be handed out at the venue for an hour, from 10am until 11am.

People can grab their first jab, or receive their second dose, if they are eligible and eight weeks or more have passed since they received their first vaccine.

No prior bookings need to be made in advance – people can just show up.

Sunday and Monday drop-in sessions

On Sunday (11 July) and Monday (12 July), doses of the AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines will be handed out – further information can be found here.

Further dates will be announced on the Leicester City CCG website, linked here.

Why the sessions are taking place

Vaccines are being ‘scaled up’ ready for July 19, when Covid-19 restrictions are expected to be lifted, so the local CCG are calling on all unvaccinated Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland residents to go and get vaccinated.
