COUNCIL LEADERS at Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council are encouraging business owners in Nuneaton and Bedworth to join the conversation about the town centres and their future.

All businesses from the two towns have been invited to contribute their ideas as a part of a ‘brand new’ Borough Council partnership – and the first of the many virtual meetings is just three days’ away (6 July).

It is being hoped that the new partnership will launch this Summertime.

Businesses in the town centres are being handed letters with full details – those interested can register their interest into the Business Sectors virtual meeting online here.

Both of the town centres have outlined ‘major’ future development plans.

Council officers will share updates on the key projects.

The new forum is being launched to give businessowners a platform to supply their ideas, explain challenges in their sector, and ask questions.

To kick off the fresh approach to the new business partnership, six initial virtual meetings will be held online over the following sectors.

These are:

  • Independent Retail (6 July)
  • National Retail (13 July)
  • Hospitality, Night-Time Economy & Leisure (3 August)
  • Commercial / Professional (4 August)
  • Market Traders Steering Group (10 August)
  • Landlords (11 August)

Cllr. Kristofer Wilson, Council Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, said: “The new administration is keen to support, and be accessible to, the wide range of businesses across the Borough.

“As a starting point, we want to engage with business within the town centres to understand how we can improve the ways we are already working together to improve our towns.

“Eventually, we hope this will cement a brand new towns partnership through which we can make sure we listen to businesses about the barriers they face, as well as working with as many people as possible on the fresh ideas that are open to us.”
