THE CONCORDIA Theatre on Stockwell Head will start holding stage performances once again in September.

The much-loved town theatre first broke the news on their official website and Facebook page, where they stated that ‘the lights will go down and the curtains will come up’ in September for the first shows of the new season.
The season’s programme is currently under review at the time of publication (5 June), but once all details are confirmed they will be revealed on the Theatre’s website.
The statement reads: “We are so excited to be able to welcome you back to the Concordia after being closed for the past 15 months and are pleased to say that bookings will re-open on Saturday 12th June for the initial productions of the Autumn season.
“We are overwhelmed by the support and generosity received since the beginning of the pandemic and once again cannot wait to see our patrons enjoying live shows and entertainment.
“Our full season’s programme is currently under review and will be announced as soon as we are able, with full details covered on our website.”
It continues: “We do hope that you will join us in September when the lights go down and the curtains come up again for the first shows of this new and very exciting season.”
The volunteer-led Theatre has been closed since March 2020 for a total of fifteen months as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In May when the Covid lockdown restrictions eased, the Theatre were given the thumbs up to re-open in a socially-distanced manner with a ‘magical treasure hunt’ named the “The Big Panto Adventure”, but this was not a stage show.
The Big Panto Adventure gave theatre-goers the chance to get back into the venue and meet the stars of panto in a socially-distanced around all areas of the Theatre.
Bookings for the initial productions of the set of live shows in Autumn will re-open on Saturday 12th June.
Tickets for live events can be booked in three different ways – at the box office, over the telephone, or on the official Concordia website.
As Covid restrictions remain in place, all auditorium seating will be socially-distanced.
Tickets can be purchased in blocks of two, three, or four seats together.
Tickets can be booked online at concordiatheatre.co.uk, on the box office number of 01455 615005, or by turning up to the in-person box office.
On 12 June, the box office will be open on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 10am until 12.30pm.
On Saturday 3 July, the box office will be open on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday mornings from 10am until 12.30pm.
On Monday 2 August, the box office will be open from 10am until 12.30pm on Monday and Saturday mornings, and from 7pm until 8pm on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
If theatre-goers are unable to book seats for an evening’s performance online due to no social distancing ‘bubbles’, the box office may be able to help to accommodate over the phone.
