AN ‘UNDER OFFER’ sign has been placed atop a former greengrocers on Castle Street in Hinckley town centre.

The sign has appeared above the former home of independently-owned Caves Grocers, who sadly left the town centre back in October 2019.
Since its closure back then, the unit has remained disused and untouched, but the ‘under offer’ sign shows that a potential taker may be eyeing it up.
The Castle Street-based space has been described as a ‘prime’ retail unit.
It is being marketed by Wards, a Station Road-based chartered surveyors and estate agents.
No new signs of life have been spotted inside of the site, and no potential takers have spoken out about it at the time of publication (31 May).
The Free Press reached out to Wards, who declined to comment as they were unable to provide further information.
Showing that faith and hope can be restored for vacant town centre units, Hinckley is now home to three new start-ups, all of which have opened this year (2021).
Independent Hinckley-based gym, Just One More, announced back in early April that they are taking over the former GAME store on Upper Castle Street.
Since then, they have been working around the clock over the past two months’ to renovate the space for its’ official opening in just seven days’ time (7 June).
In April, the town’s newest restaurant, Poco Loco, set up shop. They opened in the former Café Espanol space and offer cups of coffee and Mediterranean dishes to hungry diners stopping by for a drink and bite to eat.
April proved a successful month for start-ups, as a new Viking-inspired tattoo parlour named Black Helm Tattoo opened up in the former Hubbard’s Toy Cupboard unit on Regent Street.
