A public electric vehicle charging point has been installed in the car park of a Desford sports facility.

The double 22KW AC charging point has been installed at the front of the Sport in Desford car park, based on Peckleton Lane.
It was installed after grants were received to help assist with the capital cost of the installation, with grants from Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, Desford Parish Council, and the Maud Elkington Charitable Trust.
It is open and available for the general public to use for 24 hours a day, with a charge of 30p per KWh, as well as 24p sign-on fee.
After two hours of use, the fee changes to a £2 per hour fee.
The car park, which houses the points, can be found at Peckleton Lane, Desford, Leicester, Leicestershire, LE9 9JU.
EV Drivers have already familiarised themselves with the charging points, which have been in place at the start of the month since 8 April, as the location is being promoted on the official Plugshare and Zap Map websites.
Nearby, in Hinckley, two Council-run car parks now house 24 car parking points in total, with 12 the Castle Car Park and 12 in the Lower Bond Street car park.
