A NUNEATON-based Mexican food takeaway have re-located to a new space in the town centre.

Casa Rica, an independently-ran takeaway and restaurant with Mexican-themed dishes and offerings have completed their relocation to a new spot in Abbey Street.

Back in September last year (2020), The Hinckley Free Press and passers-by had spotted signs in the windows that had mentioned that they were ‘Moving to [107] Abbey Street – the heart of the town centre’.

The takeaway officially confirmed this news on their Facebook page a few days later on 7 October 2020.

Optimistic owners originally planned to have completed the re-location by Wednesday 17 March, but this was not fully completed until three days later on Friday 19 March.

The three day delay in moving boiled down to ‘being a little hectic’ and ‘a little bit later than expected’.

They have taken on a former town pizzeria opposite popular pizza giant Domino’s.

A competition was hosted through their Facebook page with the winner being treated to a complimentary meal for two.

The competition winner was announced on the re-opening day by Nuneaton resident Becki Lucy Olner.

In a statement issued to their customers on Facebook on 20 March, a spokesperson for the restaurant, said: “We moved to our new shop yesterday.

“It’s been a little hectic and a little bit later than expected, but we’ve done it.

“Thank you for your patience & all your custom. It really means a lot.”

The takeaway offer delivery through services like Just-Eat and Uber Eats as well as their own website of www.casarica.co.uk.
