Roads remain closed on Bond Street

UPPER and Lower Bond Street in Hinckley have been closed since 6am, following an incident involving a motorcyclist.

The closure was first reported by Leicestershire Police on their official Twitter account at 6.23am.

The roads at the junction of Hollycroft and Upper and Lower Bond Street are still closed off as a result.

Drivers have had to take alternatives routes to avoid the closed off roads.

Hinckley Police were called to the scene by the ambulance service who were treating the injured motorcyclist who was involved in a collision.

No other vehicles were involved, and the injuries sustained by the motorcyclist are not believed to be life threatening.

The Highways Agency have been called to assess the road conditions and make it safe to re-open. 

The roads remain closed at the time of publication (9am) as the incident remains ongoing.

Leicestershire Police have confirmed that as of 9.40am, the road has been cleared and has been re-opened for drivers to use again.
