Casual staff needed for upcoming local general elections – forms now online

LISTINGS for positions as casual staff to help Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council out in the local general elections in May have gone live.

Casual staff members are being recruited by the Borough Council for the postponed Police and Crime Commissioner election, in conjunction with the scheduled Leicestershire County Council election, which will take place on the same day of Thursday 6 May 2021.

All positions are paid and several have been listed, including Presiding Officer, Poll Clerk, Overnight Counting Assistant, Daytime Count Assistant, Postal Vote Opener, and Electoral Registration Canvasser.

The Borough Council have explained that ‘appropriate measures’ will be implemented, following the Government guidelines on staying safe through the pandemic, to ensure that both the staff members and members of the general public are being safeguarded and kept safe.

Those interested are able to apply to the positions here through the Council’s official website, but the only requirement for the roles is that the applicant must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
