The virtual choir sessions are half an hour long and are being held online – anybody is able to take part, even if they haven’t had any prior singing practice or lessons before signing up.

The first session starts on Wednesday 24 February from 12.30pm until 1.00pm and they will be led by a ‘professional’ choir singer.

Those interested in joining and singing can do so by clicking here and registering with Eventbrite. Once registered, weekly email links will be sent to your email address for the sessions, and participants can always opt out at any time.

Further information and details on joining and instructions are available by simply emailing exploringeliot@nuneatonandbedworth.gov.uk.

Cllr. Ian Lloyd, Portfolio Holder for Arts and Leisure at Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, said: “Singing together is a fantastic way to lift your spirits and have fun, inspired by local novelist George Eliot’s own love of music, the choir will be singing a wide range of popular music and we hope to see a large take up.”

“It makes no difference whether you have never sang before or are a professional singer, these sessions are open to all, no experience needed!

“Join our free online choir led by a professional choir leader and have a brilliant half hour of vocal fun.’’
