A COMMUNITY Centre in Hinckley has started operating as a COVID-19 rapid lateral flow testing centre today (8 February).
Westfield Community Centre, based on Rosemary Way, near Coventry Road, has been launched as a rapid testing site, so that eligible key workers are able to take a COVID-19 test.
The site has been created to test all eligible key workers living in the county who are unable to work from home throughout the pandemic, who are not showing any symptoms of the coronavirus, and are not in self-isolation.
Key workers who need to book an appointment for a coronavirus test at the Centre are able to do so online through Leicestershire City Council’s official website, linked here.
Taking a coronavirus test helps protect the community locally, as residents without symptoms can be identified, which helps tackle the spread of the virus.
Other rapid testing centres have recently been set up at more sites throughout Leicestershire, such as in Blaby, Loughborough, Melton, Swannington, and Wigston.
Hinckley’s Holliers Walk testing site
Back in December, a car park on Holliers Walk opposite the Everest Dine restaurant near Hinckley College, was converted into a walk-in COVID-19 testing site.
