HINCKLEY MARKET is set to return to Hinckley’s high street tomorrow morning (2 January) for their first market of the new year.

The news was announced on social media by bosses at Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council on their official pages. This marks a well-welcomed triumphant return for the market stall holders who had taken a break off from manning their stalls as they were given time off to celebrate the Christmas season with family.

Per the tier four restrictions which were rolled out two days ago (30 December), the market stall only permit ‘essential’ retailers with stalls selling goods on the market, including: grocery and food.

The market should open from 9am in the morning and should finish at 3pm – as well as trading on Saturdays like tomorrow, Monday and Friday are market days too.

Unlike in Tier 3 which seen non-essential retailers remain open, rules have been altered in line with Government guidelines in Tier 4 where only essential traders are allowed to operate and ‘non-essential’ retailers have to close until further notice.

As they are essential retailers, only Boots and Wilko will remain open for those who need to pick up shopping from the retailers inside of the Britannia Shopping Centre nearby.
