The transfer will help to bring in more expertise and resources that will help The Hinckley Academy achieve their aspiration to be ‘the outstanding provider’ of secondary education within the community.

The Futures Trust are a ‘values based’ multi-academy who have built up good track records of ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’ schools in Coventry.

The new transfer ‘marks a new and exciting phase’ for the development of the Academy and now benefits from The Futures Trust’s well-established record of developing good and outstanding schools, like they have on school sites over in Coventry.

The Chief Executive Officer of The Futures Trust, Peter Thomas, wrote to all parents and carers of students at the site to provide further information on what the transfer means for the Academy.

The Academy’s move to The Futures Trust will see substantial additional funding from the Department of Education’s capital to support remodelling and improvements works on their existing site.

As well as receiving funding for renovation and improvement works, further funding has been secured by The Futures Trust from The Department of Education to provide a newly-built brand new state of the art classroom block which would provide a total of 3220m² of teaching space over three storeys.

A spokesperson for the secondary school explained that they are ‘tremendously excited’ at the prospect of a state of the art new building on the site, as well as the additional opportunities that will be enabled for them to provide to their students.

Peter Thomas, Chief Executive Officer for The Futures Trust, said: “I am delighted that Hinckley Academy and John Cleveland Sixth Form College is joining our family of schools.

“My own children attended the school, and I am very familiar with the local community together with its needs and expectations.”

Dr Luke Evans, Member of Parliament for Bosworth, said: “This is a huge step for the future of Hinckley Academy, and more importantly for the generations of children who will benefit from both the leadership of The Futures Trust, but also from the significant investment that is being made in the fabric of the school which will see state of the art facilities being built.

“This is wonderful news for Hinckley residents, I’m delighted to have played a role in bringing this day to reality and can’t wait to see how the school develops under the guidance of The Futures Trust in the coming years.”
