Earlier today, speculation circulated the town over the future of Bodycare’s Nuneaton store on Abbey Street as passers-by had spotted workers stripping out the cosmetics and beauty supply store.

Thankfully, The Hinckley Free Press can confirm that Bodycare are on the move in town and are relocating to a new location in Nuneaton – they are not gone for good.

Works have been undergoing at the former Select space for a few weeks now with the glass windows being covered over to the public to hide the work going on inside, meaning the next occupant were keeping it under wraps and trying to stay unknown.

On Sunday October 29, a Tweet was posted on the official Cooke & Arkwright letting agents Twitter account confirming the news that Cooke and Arkwright’s Retail and Leisure Team have been ‘working far afield’ and had completed a deal on letting the unit on 13 Market Place.

The deal was settled and negotiated on behalf of the unit landlord in a joint partnership with Wright Silverwood. Lancashire’s largest single firm of chartered surveyors, Robert Pinkus, were the representatives for Bodycare.

When HMV departed from the Ropewalk Shopping Centre, speculation ran rampant that Bodycare would be the ones to breathe new life in to the unit, however this Market Place news quashes them rumours.

The beauty care retailer have not announced an opening date or mentioned their new location publicly at the time of publication today (10 November), but it seems very likely they will be one of the first names to re-open when non-essential stores are given the green light to do so.

Bodycare have had a prominent presence in the town for a number of years opposite Nuneaton’s Pizza Hut dine-in restaurant on Abbey Street.
