Customers will be able to head in-store on Regent Street tomorrow to make their final purchases and say goodbye to Hubbard’s before they pull the shutters down for the final time at 4.00 pm.

As we first reported in our initial report three months ago back on Sunday 21 June, Hubbard’s, made the saddening shock announcement that they would be permanently closing the doors to their store.

Shutting down sales held

Since that announcement, store owner Caroline Hubbard has been holding sporadic flash ‘closing down’ sales to rid the shop of stock ready for when the store had to permanently close their doors.

Hubbard’s sold a wide range of toys and products, from soft baby toys and picture books for newborns, to educational products and learning resources for 14-year-olds.

Hubbard’s owner Caroline comments

Store Owner and Founder, Caroline Hubbard, issued a statement with her colleagues on social media thanking their customers of seven years and a half years.

She said: “Tomorrow will be the last day here at Hubbard’s Toy Cupboard. I will close my doors at 4 o’clock and that will be me finished in the store.

“I would like to thank everyone for the support over the last seven and a half years, it has been fun. I have met and worked with some amazing people.

“I will be doing a market night, so keep your eyes open for the event.”
