It has been revealed by The New Baron of Hinckley that the ever-popular ‘Burns’ Bingo Balls’ shall become a permanent weekly fixture, taking place every Thursday from 7:00 pm, previously only being held once every month, with the first starting from this coming Thursday 8 October.

In addition to this, exclusively on the night of Drag Bingo, Fanny’s promotional cocktails, which are new to the Baron menu, will be on offer with two pitchers for £15.00. These will be available from 5:00 PM until last orders.

New cocktail names

The names of the themed cocktails are ‘Allo Allo My Fanny Burns’, ‘Fanny’s Fruit Fusion’, ‘Rhubingoberry’, ‘Raspberry Nipple’, and ‘Slinky Pinky Shake’.

Burns’ Bingo Balls explained

For those unaware with the concept, it is a game of bingo hosted by Leicestershire-based drag queen Fanny Burns, with her quick-witted banter and comedy.

‘Games, fun, and prizes’ are advertised on promotional material – and it is exactly what the drag queen brings on the night.

You will be able to purchase marker pens as makeshift bingo dabbers for bingo cards if you have forgot to bring one with you.

Fanny Burns is a well-known name at the venue, as she was the first ever drag queen to perform at The New Baron.

Since making many appearances, Fanny has most recently hosted the first-ever cabaret night in the boozer.

Baron aim to be ‘go-to for bingo’

Speaking to The Hinckley Free Press, a spokesperson for Elmesthorpe Brewery said: “We are really excited to be hosting a weekly Drag Bingo event for the foreseeable future.

“We want to be known as the go-to venue for bingo every week.

“It socially brings people together with a jovial atmosphere yet cut throat humour. We ask everyone to wear a mask whilst moving around our venues until seated.”

Burns: ‘Excited to see familiar faces’

When Fanny Burns herself was approached for comment, she said: “‘I’m so delighted that the Baron has decided to open their doors and give Fanny a weekly home in Hinckley.

“Burn’s Bingo Balls will now be a regular fixture to the weekly offering of The New Baron and I can’t wait to see you all supporting local entertainment and venues.

“I am excited to see some familiar faces every week, but also some new ones – seats are limited still as COVID restrictions still apply, so be sure to get there early for your piece of weekly Fanny.”

For those wanting to attend, bookings will not be available. It is a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

Customers are required to wear a mask until seated and it is being encouraged to use the table service app so drinks and food arrive safely to your table during the event.
