WEDDINGTON’s busy main road, Weddington Road, look to be seeing two new occupants join the row of shops nearing the One Stop convenience store and post office.
The newest recently-announced project for the row of shops is named Paige’s Pitstop, which is a project from Paige Mellor, the daughter of local Nuneaton butcher Steve Mellor.
Paige took to the businesses official Facebook page back on 2 July to announce that the brand new project would be underway, with updates to follow on the social media platform over due time.
Paige’s Pitstop is setting up in the retail unit which used to be home to Willow’s Florist next door to Steve Mellor’s independent and family run butchers.
Works are currently ongoing to the former florists at this moment in time.
Whilst its unknown what purpose Paige’s Pitstop will serve, contractors are working hard inside of the space on refurbishment and renovation works.
Storefront signage still hasn’t been installed on the unit yet, however the inside of the store is nearing completion.
Unknown use for former bookies
Adjacent to Full Circle Yoga is the former Coral bookies space that has sat both empty and vacant since 23 February, when the bookmakers suddenly shut the store with no explanation.
The former bookies is seeing new signs of life once again, after a worker has been spotted working on refurbishing the space today.
Today on Tuesday 22 September, a worker was spotted renovating the space where they had started painting the unit and started installation works on the storefront signage.
At the time of publication, it is unknown as to who the new occupant is and what their plans are for the space.
A public announcement regarding the next lease of life for the building is still yet to come.
