The swimming sessions have restarted at Hinckley’s Argent Mead-based Leisure Centre with a few coronavirus safety measures in place, making the venue a safer environment for both staff and swimmers.

Attendees are being asked to arrive 15 minutes before their sessions start. In addition to this, eager swimmers attending the Centre may be asked to wait if ongoing sessions are at maximum capacity.

Only one adult will be able to accompany each child to their swimming lesson.

The new rules require swimmers to arrive ‘swim ready’, meaning swimmers should wear their swimming costumes under their clothes, so it is easier for them to take part in the lessons in their allocated time slot.

Alternative routes, like one-way systems, may be used throughout the Leisure Centre. Signs have been placed around the facility will guide those attending.

Goggles and hats need to be on before lessons start as swim teachers are currently unable to help sort these out.

Teachers will now lead the lessons poolside. Buoyancy aids will be introduced if they are needed at all.

Attendees are being asked to stick to the social distancing measures in place.
