NWSLC announce regrading of BTEC results

NORTH Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College, who own Hinckley College on Upper Bond Street, as well as the Nuneaton, Wigston and Harrowbrook sites, have made changes to their BTEC results today.

The College made an announcement on social media explaining that BTEC results will not be released to students today on Thursday 20 August to either level one or level two students.

Level three students who have already been issued their grades will also see their grades regraded.

The board over at BTEC will now use grades assigned by lecturers as opposed to results issued from BTEC themselves.

This way, grades are only able to stay the same or go up, they can’t go down.

The College were advised to make the change by Pearson, the ‘award-winning body’ of BTEC qualifications, following the re-evaluations of A-Level and GCSE grades.

NWSLC will provide their students with information regarding the new re-evaluated grades as soon as they are available, through their official social media platforms.

College statement

In a statement on social media, a spokesperson for the College said: “We understand that this is a distressing and confusing situation for you and that you will be concerned about your progress to your next level of your education with us or into higher education.

“Please be reassured that if you are progressing with us, then you will still be able to do this, and you will not have to wait for re-evaluated grades to start your new course.

“If you are moving into higher education and require information from NWSLC to give to your university, then please let us know and we can help.”
