The Market Bosworth-based tourist attraction took to their official Facebook page last night on Friday 7 August to announce the ban to their visitors.

As of 9 am this morning on Saturday 8 August, the new rule has been implemented, meaning under-18s are only able to visit with their parents or guardians.

The park stated that the ban comes after under 18s attendees at the park were failing to comply with the new social distancing rules that have been put in place due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The Water Trust have further cited both littering and anti-social behaviour as two more reasons that the ban has been introduced.

In the statement on Facebook, a spokesperson for Bosworth Water Park has urged parents not to allow their children to attend on their own. They said: “Any person under the age of 18 found to be on our premises and not accompanied will be removed.

“PARENTS PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW YOUR CHILDREN TO VISIT ON THEIR OWN THEY WILL BE REMOVED. [sic]

“We are sorry to have to make this decision but unfortunately a minority of individuals have spoilt this for all.”

Bosworth Water Park were approached by the Hinckley Free Press for comment, however they were unavailable at the time of publication.
